An Athens man told police he sang the national anthem to himself during an armed robbery on Athens’ Eastside two months ago.
The man didn’t report the purported hold-up until Thursday because he told police he thought he knew who robbed him and could get back his belongings on his own, Athens-Clarke police said.
Officers learned the man’s story on Thursday, when they responded to a home on Midway Road where a resident complained about receiving threatening phone calls, police said.
